- Recently I just transformed from an embryo to a fetus. I already have a nose, mouth, hands, ears, and even fingernails. My little heart is beating about 160 times a minute these days, and I am a bout 15 inches (about the size of a big head of Chinese cabbage). In addition to a heart and a brain, I now have an appendix and a pancreas. I am swallowing fluid and kicking up a storm - Mom and Dad have both felt my kicks for several weeks now. Recently I just learned how to open my eyes, and my hearing is now very well developed. By the way, congratulations if you have managed to read this far. Mom and Dad just found out today (May 21) that I am a BOY!

I don't think you really had much of a belly until that last month and I think he arrived early because he had no more room to grow in your tiny frame. Be thankful he didn't reach 10 lbs like mine.. Imagine how BIG my tummy got. haha. I'll dig out my pics sometime. You are a beautiful mom and we were so happy to meet VJ already. Love you both! Jenn
